pork sweet and sour dish
You need:
- 2 -4 medium sized pork chops (cuts)
- a piece of butter to fry the pork in the pan
- rice
- water to boil the rice
for the sauce:
- a can of cut pineapples
- a pinch of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 table spoon ful of soya sauce
- a small amount of vinegar
- 1/2 tablespoon of cornstarch
- a pot for the rice
- a pan for the meat
- little bowl with a bit of water
The rice takes the longest so start cooking 1/2 - 1 cup of rice in a pot filled with a bit of water that covers the rice. Put on full heat until the water is boiling then let is simmer (ca 2 on our oven) until done.
Cut the porc into small cubes (ca. 1.5cm x 1.5 cm). Warm the butter up in the pan, then fry the pork in the pan with the oven on high (7 or 8 on our oven).

The sauce will also be done in the pan with the meat inside. When the pork has become brown add 1/4 teaspoon of pepper and a pinch of salt directly onto the meat. Next you add a little bit of vinegar and 2 tablespoons full of soya sauce.
Put the lid on the pan and let it simmer (on 2 on our oven) for a couple of minutes until the sauce starts to boil. During that time you mix the cornstarch in a little bowl with a bit of water. When the sauce starts boiling you add the dissolved starch, stir a little bit and wait until the starch thickens (it goes from white to transparent).
Now you can taste the sauce to decide if you need to add a bit more pepper, salt etc. Then turn the heat of. When the ride is done you mix the meat with the rice and your meal is done!
Enjoy!
